TOELATING
Ik heb toelating gedaan op de Willem de Kooning Academie in Rotterdam en hier ben ik ook toegelaten, HOERAAA :))
Voor deze toelating moesten we twee opdrachten uitkiezen (thuisopdrachten vanwege corona) en je portfolio inleveren. Mijn portfolio moest ik nog compleet online maken, dus besloot ik deze site te bouwen, wat trouwens echt belachelijk veel werk was. Het was met name heel veel fotograferen en ordenen. De thuisopdrachten staan hieronder, ik heb het proces met name in foto's vast gelegd en ook verwerkt in het filmpje. De tweede opdracht vond ik wel zo tof gelukt dat ik eigenlijk begon te twijfelen over de eerste of die nog wel goed genoeg was, maar ik heb zo toch maar zo ingeleverd. En dus toegelaten!!

ADMISSION
I did the admission at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam and I got accepted, HORRAA :))
For this admission we had to choose two assignments (home assignments due to COVID-19) and hand in your portfolio. I still had to complete my portfolio online, so I decided to build this site, which was a ridiculous amount of work by the way. It was mainly a lot of photographing and organizing. The home assignments are below, I have mainly captured the process in photos and also processed it in the video. I thought the second assignment turned out so well that I actually started to doubt whether the first one was still good enough, but I just handed it in anyway. And got admitted!!
HOME ASSIGNMENT 1

The first assignment I chose was:
100 times you
Collect 100 things, objects, materials, sounds, images, flavours, etc. each with its own form or shape, colour, material, all telling something about you.
Organise and present this collection of 100 things in an original way.
Make and design a catalogue of this collection of these 100 things, with short descriptions. Write an introduction and a conclusion for the catalogue.
As in all assignments: present to the admission committee your complete process: your research, your ideas, sketches, steps and choices and of course show your final result.
HOME ASSIGNMENT 2

The second assignment I chose was:
Lost and found in translation
Take a random item or image from in or around your house.
Take a map of the whole world, and draw a straight line across the world map, on a random angle, with your house positioned on the line.
Make an imaginary journey around the world, along that line.
Translate or adapt the chosen item or image to any country you visit. What colours are used around the world? What materials will your translations be made of? Take, for example, into consideration the culture, traditions, climate, available materials, means of production, degree of economic development, political situation, etc. in order to arrive at an adaptation or translation.
Design and make an exhibition of these new translations that you found on your trip around the world. Find the perfect spot for this exhibition and the perfect way for exhibiting the translations. You could even design a poster and flyer or a website for the exhibition.
As in all assignments: present to the admission committee your complete process: your research, your ideas, sketches, steps and choices and of course show your final results.
PORTFOLIOCURSUS SIZE L
Hier staan de opdrachten die we hebben gekregen bij de portfoliocursus L op de academie: Willem de Kooning in Rotterdam. Deze cursus was tijdens de Corona tijd, dus het ging iets moeizamer dan verwacht. Maar ik heb twee opdrachten volledig af gekregen. Daarna ben ik direct begonnen aan de thuisopdrachten.

Here are the assignments we received at the portfolio course L at the academy: Willem de Kooning in Rotterdam. This course was during Corona time, so it went a little more difficult than expected. But I got two assignments completely finished. After that, I immediately started working on the home assignments.
25 WERKEN MET DOEL
We moesten twee voorwerpen meenemen: één die ons aansprak en één die ons juist niet aansprak (je mocht kiezen welke je ging gebruiken). Deze moesten we op verschillende manieren natekenen. En daarna moesten we zoveel mogelijk tekeningen maken, terwijl je naar een doel werkt. Sommige waren pittig, maar ik vond het een leuke opdracht!!

25 ARTWORKS WITH PURPOSE
We had to bring two objects: one that appealed to us and one that did not appeal to us (you got to choose which one you were going to use). We had to draw these in different ways. And then we had to make as many drawings as possible while working toward a goal. Some were tough, but I thought it was a fun assignment!!!
IDEALE KLASLOKAAL
Dit is een vakgerichte opdracht: We hadden keuze uit verschillende opdrachten, ik heb gekozen voor de opdracht om het ideale klaslokaal te maken. Tijdens deze opdracht kwam ik erachter hoeveel ik nog mis op mijn school aan gereedschap en materialen.
Toen ik bezig was met de ruimtes inrichten, toen besefte ik me dat ik weer veel te gedetailleerd bezig was, dus ik stopte ermee en ben verder gegaan met het maken van het bouwwerk zelf.

IDEAL CLASSROOM
This is a subject specific assignment: We had a choice of assignments, I chose the assignment to make the ideal classroom. During this assignment, I found out how much I am still missing at my school in terms of tools and materials.
When I was working on setting up the rooms, then I realized that I was again working in far too much detail, so I stopped and continued making the structure itself.

Tijdens deze cursus hebben we drie colleges gekregen (digitaal) tijdens deze colleges heb ik aantekeningen gemaakt, omdat ik ze er interessant vond en de dingen wil blijven onthouden.
